Helping A Psychiatrist Spread Awareness Awareness

About The Client

The client is a psychiatrist in Pune with an experience of seven years. Despite having a limited target audience, they were satisfied with the consultations they received regularly. They practice both psychiatry and clinical psychology to improve the overall mental health of their patients. Their dedication, experience, and positive attitude have made them popular amongst their patients/clients.

The Problem

The Problem

While the psychiatrist enjoyed a favorable reputation and the trust of their clients, they wanted more people to know about autism. The client had handled many cases of autism and intended to spread the knowledge they had about the same. The client had noticed that people often cannot digest the fact that there is no complete cure for autism. While its symptoms can be managed and prevented from getting worse, a 100% cure for the mental disorder has not yet been found. They wanted such pieces of valuable information to reach a wider audience, helping them manage their expectations better.

The Solution

The Solution

According to the requirements of our client, we created five-month-long PR and social media marketing campaign. We started by conducting an interview of our client with a noted web journalist. The interview involved the psychiatrist answering questions regarding the causes of autism, its symptoms, and the best procedures to control the disorder. The healthcare professional also talked about common myths and shared tips for parents to deal with children suffering from autism.

Once completed, this interview was organically covered by some of the biggest media houses in the country. Along with the primary English interview, we also circulated translated versions in Hindi and Marathi to reach a wider audience. During the last month of the campaign, our experts in healthcare marketing for psychiatrists also circulated print PR articles regarding the client’s outlook on autism and important tips for parents. The print articles were written in Hindi and Marathi. Along with the extensive PR campaign, we created social media accounts in the name of our client, dedicated especially to autism. These accounts carried information, tips, recommendations, symptoms, and risk factors associated with the brain disorder. Our primary target audience was the parents of autistic children. We also conducted two live Q&A sessions on Instagram with our client. Here, parents of autistic children got several issues resolved and asked their hearts out to the psychiatrist.

The Result

With our PR campaign, we managed to spark a conversation around autism and its complications. During the five months of circulating the articles on multiple platforms, our client was bombarded with calls, text messages, and emails. From parents to school teachers, everyone reached out to the psychiatrist to get their questions answered. While some asked for the best ways to teach autistic children, others discussed the brain’s anatomy.

Over five months, we managed to generate 1.5k followers across Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Almost 1,000 Instagram users joined the live sessions organized with the client. Overall, the campaign managed to let people living across the length and breadth of Pune know valuable information about autism.
